Is this Craigslist posting a scam?

Found this posting on Craiglist and decided to check it out:

WORK FROM HOME (United States)

compensation: $5 to $9 per piece

Read the news and earn from $5 to $9 for every piece of news you read. You can read about 35 fresh news on the site every day, so you can get a minimum of $250 a day and $2000 a week. There is a referral program on this site. Spread your referral link and get $40 for every partner and get 20% from him/her every day earnings. This is not a get rich scam.

I emailed the craigslist email and received an email with a sign-up link for PaidViewPoint and a note from the sender saying “they really pay.”

I’ve gone through the sign-up process with PaidViewPoint and already earned about $2.10. ¬†However, I won’t be able to cash out until I reach at least $15. The site definitely is not a scam, but so far what I’ve done appears to be surveys, not reading news. Reading news may be one of the things that they offer, according to the video that I viewed, it appears to be more surveys than anything else, so to me the ad is misleading. You can find out more about PaidViewPoint by reading this post on Work at Home Adventures.
